I get your theory but I still think it's harder to run a baseball team with a limited payroll AND want to compete. You have to really work hard at getting the right players that are actually good but won't cost a lot. You can't just bribe any player you want with money. You have to think a lot harder. If you make a big deal and spend a lot, you have to make sure he was worth it and will help out the team. That gives you less money to sign other players. However, I agree with your last sentence. There is a lot more pressure on a GM with an unlimited payroll. He is expected to produce a winning team because he has so much money. If he doesn't get it done, then it is looked down upon much more than the GM with a limited payroll.

We had the "Warriors" and used a baseball with a mean looking face.
I also like "Express" with a train engine as a logo.
(A minor league team in Round Rock,Texas you can web search them).
Your best bet is to research something to do with the area you are from. It can be historical, some local legend, animal, famous person etc.

The Sexecutioners. It is the single greatest fantasy nickname ever, I am sure it is a matter of time before someone uses this moniker on their way to the WWE World Tag Titles - ha ha ha.

If its a serious team then something like The Express (a train logo)
if its not serious then try Los Chupacabras (it will strike fear into your opponents)

it really depends how old the kids are and what city you are in, but you might want to consider MLB team names or something like the Lions, or a different animal.
