My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years. We have 2 kids together and he helping raise my daughter from a previous relationship. We live together and do everything like a married couple. My question is whats taking him so long to ask me to marry him?

Maybe he needs a push, as long as your making it comfortable for him in the present situation he feels no need to rush into marriage. I mean 5 years is long enough to get married and you already have kids. My suggestion to you is make jokes about it like when are you going to make an honest woman out of me. Or one night when your watching tv turn around and look at him and seriously say will you marry me, like a proposal, it's not unheard of for a woman to propose to a man nowadays. And whatever his reponse is you'll have your answer. Good luck.

really
i have been happily unmarried for many many yrs
the only thing its good for is spending tons of money to get in and out of it
we wear rings and said some vows to each other about 5 yrs ago or so with family and friends around the back yrd
you dont need that paper to tell anyone you want to be with them forever

No clue. Maybe you should ask him to marry you. Why he won't is maybe why bother? Apparently he's living like that now.
