First, Gibsons are made in the U.S. not China.

This company makes cheap knockoffs and Gibson is going after them, as is PRS and Fender and I think even Ibanez is getting in on it.

That being said, if you don't mind the risk of bringing counterfeit goods into the country, I have been told that the quality of these is sometimes so close to the real thing that it is scary and can only be determined by disassembling the instrument.

look cool, but play one first. Gibson used to make some pretty nice guitars. these are pretty inexpensive which makes me wonder if they're the same maker ($375?).

I'd be concerned about the quality of the pickups and how fast the action is as well as how straight the neck is.

Play one first. If they're mail order only (Internet)and you can't make sure you can return it.

I love the Gibson. Lennon played with that instrument.
