Manifest destiny was the belief in the 19th century that it was the destiny of the United States to form one nation from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This did not take into account the rights of native Indian tribes. The Indians were seen as part of nature that had to be conquered. So it was contradictory to the spirit of equality

Destiny; The fate or fortune to which a person or thing is destined; lot. The preordained or predetermined ordering of events. The power or agency that is thought to predetermine the course of events; fate. NO ! How can manifest destiny go against anything since it is not manifested yet! It will lead to equality !

Not for people during that time. They felt that the Native Americans were inferior and thus did not deserve the same equal rights that white men deserved.
