Just curious why everyone says that low self esteem is a big reason for women to cheat?

A woman with low self esteem is more likely to feel unattractive, unloved, and unwanted. Therefore, even if she is in a loving relationship, she may try to seek affection and attention from other men to try to prove that she is desirable.

the low self esteem cry is simply the lack of attention whether it's a man screaming it or a woman.
absolutely no reason to cheat.
people cheat because of
greed
lust
being idle not being productive
bottom line is cheater's are people with low morals,values and ethics, w/ a poor sense of accountability for ones own actions.
man/woman that cheats should be held accountable for their actions

The reason they say that the person has low self esteem is because, they would not be in a relationship that would cause them to cheat. They would be in a relationship that would be a catalyst to growth. But...as in everything else, not one answer fits every situation's question. Sometimes it is revenge...sometimes it is just plain, she or he has no morals and is vermin!

That is a new one on me.That must be the reason that alot of men cheat.My first husband cheated on me so I guess that he must have had low self esteem.

I never heard that before, maybe they have low self esteem after they cheat because they know they are lying and betraying their husbands and family....I'd feel pretty low if I did that.

Infidelity is not the main reason why woman cheat... Getting revenge on a man that cheated on us is the main reason... OR when we get a man that is not meeting our standards. Woman cheat for the same reason men do... There really is no difference.

This could be partly true BUT it is still their choice to cheat and i believe it comes out of being selfish and self centered just like when it is a guy who does the cheating.

Women these days will give away their lady parts when signle to anyone they bump into that is good looking or has lots of money. Men are fools to think that marriage will change this.
At least professional wh0res are smart enough to charge money for thier services.
