Lately I have been feeling really run down. I have a succcesful career as a public accountant. The tax season is starting now and I am sooo dreading the long hours again.

I worked 225 over time hours last year and there is always more work than time in a day.

I am a single mom and I make good money. Adding on doing all the meals and cleaning and I think I am going to collapse soon.

I am all for the womans rights but I am starting to think that maybe I am not meant to do it all.

I sometimes dream about having some time off to paint and decorate my home, learn new recipies, go shopping, travel, garden, read, maybe if i get married another child to raise.

But all i see in front of me is working until I am 65. If i make it that long.

All I am saying is being a domestic house wife really looks good sometimes.

I am a divorced dad with custody of two kids. It doesn't matter if you are a woman or a man. It is hard to bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan all by yourself. My average day is eleven hours and there is cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. I don't think anyone, man or woman is equipped to be full time parent and full time employee. This is politically incorrect but the easiest way to raise kids is as a two parent family. IF the other parent doesn't drive you crazy first.

Here is the way I see it, a domestic housewife probably puts in just as many hours as working Moms....she just has an easier time with planning because she doesn't have to "go to work." I work part-time, and this year is the year that I have VOWED to do stuff I like. No more working at work, working at the kids school, and working at home to the point where I'm CRAZY BUSY....so I just made time and learned how to say no. So who cares if the laundry piles up? Who cares if I really can't afford the maids to come twice a month? I'm taking some time for ME, and I'm trying really hard not to feel guilty about it! LOL....the grass is always greener on the other side.

Hey lady,
It sounds like you need romance in your life. You need to get away from that routine and come to the big apple, and learn how to dance latin, and laugh, and giggle like a little girl and let the little girl come out for a brief moment.YOU MUST MAKE TIME.Never let an employer run you down like that.Good luck sweetheart.

Nobody is meant for that much work and responsibility on their own, man or woman. If I were you I would try to find every way possible to reduce it ie. smaller house, less extras, whatever.

Yes, I bet having one set of jobs instead of 10 looks good to you.

what does women rights have to do with the price of rice?
when it's all said and done........one still is faced w/ the question was it all worth it?
you and only you can answer this question.
if you wanna decorate the home then do it.
if you wanna work til you're an old maid do it.
whatever your heart desires i think you should do it because you don't want to be old and have any regrets, because when we're old baby we're old.

We sometimes dream of things we can't have, and sometimes in our dreams they are more appealing than in reality ...
