Become a lifeguard. You have to get a license, but then you can pick and choose the job you want. You can work full-time in the summer, and possibly part-time at an indoor pool the rest of the year. You can also train to become a CPR instructor and make a lot more money. Contact the American Lifeguard Association at americanlifeguard.com.

Both good and fairly easy to get: Mcdonalds, Burger King, etc. - fast food restaurants. Good because it will teach you to actively learn something that will give you better job prospects. Easy to get is because they usually have job applications at each of their sites. I started that way 60 years ago and went to college so that I wouldn't end up working at that.

it depends on your age. if you are a young teen, a good job is in retail, like in a store, mall, fruit and vegetable store, clothes store, diners/restaurants, etc. if you are 16 - 18, its better to get something in the school, office, hospital. if you already have a career in mind, try to help out in the field if it's possible. Babysitting is always a good choice.

I think serving in a restaurant is a great first job. You learn how to keep on your toes, do whatever needs to be done, and please your customer. And, with tips, the money isn't bad.
