ask yourself why you've been with him for so long.
Then make him a card with all of these in it.

This suggestion isn't for everyone; however, it's what I do.
Some background about me & my guy:
My boyfriend hates Valentine's Day because he feels it's to commerical, like he "has to" get me something. He'd rather buy me flowers or anything on a regular day; this way, it was his decision & he meant the gesture.
I never thougt of Valentine's Day as commerical. My family always made the holiday non-commerical. Instead of our regular dessert, we had "valentine candy" or "valentine cake". And, we always wished each other a happy valentine's day. i liked this simple, non-commerical day with just a little something extra special in it.
I give to charity in my boyfriend's name:
So, I do something non-commerical for my boyfriend. I make him a card because he loves cards & he loves the extra effort. For a gift, i make a donation to a homeless shelter for men, in his name. We are both interested in social issues. My boyfriend feels that guys have a really hard time getting help & it's good to support organizations that offer help to men. Isn't charity a great way to celebrate love?
Here's a good charity:
Visit kiva.org. You can buy a gift certificate for $25.
Kiva offers microloans to individuals in 3rd world countries. The idea is that, if people in the 3rd world can improve their business, they can lift themselves & family out of poverty & become self-sustaining. The best thing about Kiva's microloan program is that YOU choose the person you want to give a loan to. Pictures & bios are on the site.
Kiva has received a lot of press & is a trustworthy place to offer microloans. You will find the press releases on their website. The loan really does go to the same person who you choose. Best thing is that the person pays you back (not guaranteed, of course, but the people have been screened as a good risk, and will make a good effort.)
If you give a gift certificate to your boyfriend, he can choose a person to make the loan to. Then, when the recipient pays the loan back, he can keep the money (or better yet, reinvest it at Kiva)
Happy Valentine's Day

The best gift is to remind him on the 12th that Valentines day is on the 14th - that way he won't forget to get you something and get into the dog house.
Why not just get yourself some nice lingerie, he'll appreciate that.

well you can never go wrong with chocolate, or a picture of you guys together, but make sure the frame is kinda plain. and no matter what you decide to get him make sure you write him a note or letter , letting him know how important he is to you :]
