If you didn't you'd have to blow air out your nose and onto the face of the recipient of the "big one". That wouldn't be too appealing, especially if you have a bit of a sinus infection. Might even make a whistling sound if you are experiencing some stuffiness.
That's assuming that slipping a big one means kissing another person. I'm so out of touch with current slang that you could be referring to a drink from Starbucks!!
