Marriage is worth it if you truly love someone and commit you whole self to them forever.
But the reason there are so many divorces is because people are getting married because they feel the have to or think they want to spend the rest of there lives together and rush into things and then realise later down the road they don't.
Marriage is just a bit of paper... you can love someone with all your heart and spend the rest of your life together and truly be committed to them without being married!

No marriage is not outdated. The reason the divorce rate is so high is because people are doing one of two things, 1. Marrying for the wrong reasons. The ONLY reason to marry is for love. 2. People are getting married before the are ready. They think if it doesn't work, there's always divorce. Also, they take the easy way out if they have a problem. Marriage is definetly worth it! Marriage like life, is what you make it.

No-marriage is not outdated. It is a really good thing. Marriage is a committment-where a couple makes the decision, and the vows, that they will stick together through thick and thin. There are ups and downs in marriage, just as there is in any relationship. Divorce is too easy to get these days. In a way good (for those who need to get out of like an abuse relationship), Bad for those who, if they would just be willing to sit down together, and maybe with counseling, work through till it gets better, give up too quickly. Besides, if you truly love the person you are with, you will want to become committed by marriage-to have children, grandchildren, etc. By just living together, it's way too easy to just up and leave, for any reason or excuse. I hope this helps. Take care.

Yes I believe it is worth making the vows. The reason there are more divorces these days in my view is that divorce is too easy but mainly because people do not try hard enough at their marriage. Most of them split at the first sign of trouble. My grand-parents were married for over 60 years and they had been through the mill but they worked at the problems they had and overcame them as a couple.

Marriage is not outdated at all. People and couples should not even be getting married in the first place if they cannot mean the vows whey they say them. People take vows way too lightly and think of them as a joke. We need to grow up people and take our wedding vows seriously and mean then when we say them to each other and in front of God family and friends.

No - it's still the best way for two people to raise kids, conserve assets, and build a life together.

Studies show that kids raised in households led by both of their parents tend to do better than any other situation - single parent, divorced parents, adoptions, gay parents, etc. That does NOT mean that the other methods are bad, or should be banned. It just means that IN GENERAL, it works best.

And marriage also brings some special benefits as far as conserving assets. Two people can share the costs of housing, etc, and can build a nice net worth if they're smart and work hard.

Currently, I think the divorce rate is about 50% - that is, about 1 in two marriages end in divorce. However, if you check WHO is getting divorced, you'll find that a lot of the people who are divorced have had multiple spouses - they are serial divorcees. That raises the odds that any given person who gets married will stay married.

No it`s not outdated. Marriage is the backbone and structure of society. It`s because people are choosing not to get married now that there are so many cracks in society, and too many women are trying to raise kids in lopsided relationships. Children need stability, and to understand what is the norm. Marriage is give and take, and it is the only way to achieve something substantial in life.

The whole structure of civilised society is born within the family. The children learn by power of example from their parents and the learned values such as love and respect are in place in the first seven years of life. The family unit has been under attack from the 1960's onwards. That is when our society started to self destruct. We can only have a successful society if we hold the family a sacred unit which it is. It is a gift from God which is why marriage in a church is paramount so that God can bless it. All love comes from God and so if the family members truly try and live as God wants them to then we have a good, God fearing society.Obviously mistakes are made but hopefully we learn from them and move on. If we have a permissive society where abortion/child killing(as just one example) is seen as a form of contraception we are failing. Our media and TV networks are showing more and more pornography. Every one of those people who take part in the making of those obscene films were once children. Do we want our children to behave like that? If we watch it we are supporting it and are just as bad as the film-makers. Look how Rome self destructed 1700 years ago. Their society became sicker and sicker by moving away from God. We are heading that way. Only by turning to Jesus Christ can we truly have inner peace and love to share.

Run fast and far away from any woman that even hints at this. She wants to lock you down so that you can no longer play the field with other women.

Besides, marriage is a scam. They should ban it.
