How do I ask him to the dance or let him know that I like him without it being awkward and without making a fool of myself? I'm not really good at this kind of stuff. I don't even know if he likes me.

From someone who knows, it's so much more foolish to not ask him. If you ask him, the worst he could say is no, and then that's it. If he's a jerk about it, then you never wanted to deal with that anyway.
If you don't ask, you'll keep telling yourself that you should have, and that nagging thought that he might have said yes will bug you for a long time.
Ask him. :-)

I know how awkward it can be to like a guy & not know if he likes you back but I have been married for a long time now & I have a daughter that is totally open about these things... she says just ask him & if he says no then just say ok .... she is 15 & alot more outspoken than I am ...lol... if it was me Id maybe send him an email & ask him if he has a date & if he says no then ask him if he says yes then say ok Im not one of those people that thinks a girl should wait to be ask...honey if you like him ask him & if he says no rack it up to one of those things we wanted but didnt get... whats the worst that can happen he'll say no & you'll go with someone else...good luck

I'm a teenage boy and i would have alot of respect for a girl who came up and ask me to a dance but u might want to talk to him a little bit first

try to speak to him on the internet or give him a message...just talk to him...if it works...say it simply...ask him if he has someone to go to the dance with him...a girl can make the first step too...it is not foolish...you try it...at least you will know that you tried ;)...but first talk to him as friends a little bit...so he woun't be shocked or smth like that ;)...good luck...try it...if it isn' him, there are so many other guys ;)...just waiting for you ;)

if yes:
he seems 2 be showing interest in u while dancing?- ask him out
doesn't?- just leave it alone- once ur done leave
