What is a good way to go about finding an old friend?

When I was younger, many moons ago, before email...I had pen pals in Dublin, Ireland. What is a good way to find these people using the internet?

If you know their first and last name, i would use www.myspace.com to find them. Its free and its amazing how many people are on that website. I have found all my long lost friends through there!!!!
