It could just be that you are taking a high dosage of the pills as well and sometimes it takes 6 months to get it all out of your system and get pregnant (unless you are trying to avoid it than for some reason it seems that if you miss one pill you get pregnant...). Infertility is loosely defined as actively trying with no form of protection for at least one year without pregnancy.

That means that if you stop using all birth control types and have sex roughly 3 times a week and don't get pregnant then you may be facing fertility issues. Most Doctors request that you try for said year before they will investigate or intervene in any way.

So I wouldn't worry too much about it. Having been on birth control for that long may have masked a problem like an-ovulation or PCOS or any number of other problems (especially if you have been taking it to regulate menstruation) that will arise and be treatable after you stop taking the pills. Birth Control is harsh on the body and changes all the natural functions so you will have a hard time knowing what is really going on with your body until you stop taking them.

For starters you need to be a little more responsible for yourself luv as it will be you nursing the unplanned baby or even worse. An easy way to see if you are ovulating is to go off pill for a while and use another form of contraception get an ovulation prediction test from the same place you buy the preg test, they are accurate, cheap and easy. It may not be you that has the problem either it could be that he has a low sperm count as this is more often the case. If you have probs remembering to take the pill you could always get the implant, there are plenty of options and they are all a lot better than bringing another unwanted baby into the world (not sayng this is you but there are many of them)

I was worried about this before I got married because we didn't use anything and it never happened. My doc suggested that I didn't ovulate regulary even though I got a period. She put me on clomid and I got pregnant 1st try with that. We are now ttc number two after 4 years of trying and a 5 year old.
