..but not the other way around? The reason I ask this question is because a black friend went to see one the other night and was quite shocked at his attitude to white people? It doesn't really offend me, but I find it a bit hypocritical.

I'd like to know the answer to that myself. I'm sure you're going to be viciously attacked for this question.

This is something I have wondered for quite sometime myself...... I have never seen any racism as funny. I am not really offended by what anyone has to say about me or my being white.....however, it does seem in this day and age that black people can pretty much do or say whatever, for example the 8 black girls who almost killed those four white kids and only got probation...... clearly it was racially motivated. Had it been the other way around, there would have been riots and the whites would have had the book thrown at them..... It is 2007, I, nor anyone I know has ever owned slaves, nor has anyone in this era even been a slave...... I am sorry there ever even where slaves, but that is in the past. Learn from it.......

First of all, probably because you aren't socially educated enough to be making fun of something you don't understand. You say "mexicans", like that is supposed to refer to all hispanic people. It does not. Secondly if you understood comedy you would know that it is not "making fun of". Today's comedy is all about the irony of stereotypes among different races. You'll find that the hispanic and black comedians you are referring to actually have a high white demographic that attends their shows. It's just comedy. Relax. Not everything is black and white. And I know plenty of comedians who have material that involve other races. I don't get offended because I'm educated and I know it's comedy. Neither should you.

It is hypocritical. They'll use the excuse that whites have been make fun of blacks on stage before blacks started making fun of whites, so the blacks are just doing what the whites used to do. This is the same reasoning people use to do something that they want to do but have always considered to be wrong. Women do it concerning having sex, saying that men have sex with numerous partners and even cheat on their spouses, so why is it so bad when they decide to do it also? Well, it's because before the women started doing it they thought the men were wrong in what they were doing.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

White people can't complain it would be racist to say the comedian can't have free speech. If a black person says another black person is racist then it is OK, but if a white person says it then they have become the racist.
It's a tricky balance between negative and positive discrimination. I guess things can go too far too easily. Within modern society a black person making fun of white people is acceptable, just like it is acceptable to insult Americans but not Indians or Italians. I don't agree that it is right, but I accept that is how things stand. Shame really. I think it is bad to be rude to anyone regardless of what they look like.

Because people only think racism is white people being horrible towards black people; they've forgotten that it can happen the other way around. I think any racism is disgusting and the double standards annoy me. I have had several occasions when black women have made extremely racist comments towards me, but use the race card to get their own way in life. If I tried to reason with them they laughed at me.
I think that type of mentality exists in all race's and its important not to let it overshadow the plenty of good people out there. Half of the problem is that our media and government have let certain things happen - it is true that "music of black origin" is racist if you want to start reading into things. The moment double standards appear people get resentful.

A WEALTHY HOSPITAL BENEFACTOR WAS VISITING THE HOSPITAL WHEN, DURING
HER TOUR, SHE PASSED A ROOM WHERE A MALE PATIENT WAS MAST**BATING.

"OH MY GOD!" SCREAMED THE WOMAN. "THAT'S DISGRACEFUL!
WHY IS HE DOING THAT?"

THE DOCTOR THAT WAS LEADING THE TOUR EXPLAINED, "I AM VERY SORRY, BUT

THIS MAN HAS A SERIOUS CONDITION WHERE THE TEST**LES RAPIDLY REFILL

WITH S*MEN.

IF HE DOESN'T DO THAT FIVE TIMES A DAY, THEY'LL EXPLODE AND HE'LL DIE

WITHIN MINUTES."

OH, WELL IN THAT CASE, I GUESS IT'S OK," COMMENTED THE WOMAN.

IN THE VERY NEXT ROOM THEY COULD SEE THAT A FEMALE NURSE WAS PERFORMING

OR*L S*X ON A DIFFERENT MALE PATIENT.

AGAIN THE WOMAN SCREAMED,

"OH MY GOD! HOW CAN THAT BE JUSTIFIED?"...

THE DOCTOR REPLIED...

"SAME ILLNESS, BUT HE'S WITH BUPA."

Sweetie, I guess you never heard of Laura Lampinelli - extremely funny white comedians who cracks on all races. I heard her the other night and some of her jokes could have been offensive to blacks, hispanics and other races but you have to realize that it's just comedy.

because blacks and liberals alike are total hypocrites!!!!!

if a white person says something that even HINTS at race issues, he/she is automatically labeled a bigot even if the comment wasn't meant to be offensive and riots, protests, and lawsuits will follow.

blacks, on the other hand, are free to be as bigoted and racist toward whites all they wish. listen to some of those awful rap songs. i've heard lyrics from black rappers bragging about killing old white ladies and "stealing their mercedes" get the rhyme? i've also heard them make lyrics about stomping on white baby's heads, shooting white police officers, raping white women, burning down the suburbs, and many other racist comments.

where are the liberals?? aren't they the ones who keep preaching to us how awful racism is?? the answer is liberals hate the white race because we control america. something they despise.

I'm white and I don't care of black people want to make fun of white people. Really, it doesn't bother me at all, and some white people do make fun of black people when black people are not around, and sometimes when they are.

It's political correctness gone insane. I agree this is bound to stir up some PC folk's reactions but its totally true.

There are so many good black comedians that don't solely rely on their colour for their jokes, but then aslo so many supposed "black comedians/ennes" that only tell jokes about the colour of their skin. I swear if people didn't keep banging on about colour /race etc then racism would disapear before long.
