Personally, I actually believe they were more advanced then we are today. Based on their drawings and some of the things we have found they could have been. The ancient greeks had their own fully automatic car. They took a pot and hookd it to a hose. They then lit a fire underneath and the water in the pot created steam which then travled through the tunnel and hit a windmill like thing which through gears and pully's made the car move. They even tested it out last year and it WORKED!!!!!!! The ancient Chinese talked about their emperor flying toward the moon. So yeah i believe they were.....

Walter is partially right. Ancient men were just as smart as people today. However what they lacked in technology they didn't make up for with ingenuity... they made up for it with slave labor.

Rougly 1/3 of the people in Ancient Rome were slaves. Slaves work hard (if they don't you kill them) and they work cheap (a little food, some chains, some money for the guard), and they work for a long time.

That is how the ancient monuments you saw were built. With the sweat and blood of slaves.

No Ancient man was as clever as we are today, but had less technology. What they lacked in machines they made up for in ingenuity

sure they were wonderful and pretty, but they don't compare to what we can do today. Back then, monuments were more artsy and grand, but today, our monuments are more functional and efficient such as bridges, skyscrapers, satellites, etc.
