I think you are looking for the show called Boogie's Diner.
Kind of like Saved By The Bell except instead of school it focused on the kids at work.

Jm J BUllock was the "mentor".
In addition Boogies Diners were real places, I ate at the one in Chicago on a few occasions

....... from when? There was a new-adaptation version of the Mickey Mouse club in the 90s called "Kids Incorporated" which may have had similar skits.
