They say that when a woman reaches a certain age that her fertility starts tio decline after she reaches her 30's, but this is not the case with me, i am past 30 and i'm as fertile as they come, i have friends older than me and they consider themselves to be very fertile....so does it all depend on the woman and her menstrual cycle whether it's regular or irregular or does it just depend on the bodily make up of the woman and her biological clock really? or are some of us just more fertile than some? let me hear your honest views on this....

I do not need to defend myself because i have had tests that prove i am highly fertile, i could have had many more children, but my choice not to until now, so my 20 year gap does not reduce the fact i'm fertile, if anything at my age without any artificial help i would say i am fertile...funny how this question always gets women's backs up, and for the record i am not gloating about how fertile i am, but some of us are more fertile then others period.

Actually woman are born with the ability to produce a certain amount of eggs/ova in thier life time and when they are gone they are gone. It depends on many factors, genetics, environmental blah blah blah. I think its great that you have made responsible chioces about the amount of children that you have considering your fertility. I was not as fortunate as you and only have one child and she took a long long time to bless us, I was 37 when I had her and I was 17 when I started trying. We are all different. Good luck with this one.

I am 36. I have 5 children, and we just had our first ever m/c in sept of 2006.
I always thought of myself as being VERY fertile. I got pg with #5 after having sex 1 time that entire month, and my cycles were so all over the place from bf my 4th child that I had no idea when I was ovulating.
Now I am having to take clomid because the m/c either messed me up hormonally or mentally and I've not been ovulating. I'm on my 1sy cycle and hoping I don't need a 2nd...this is VERY unfamiliar territory for me.

I think some people are more fertile than others like me i got pregnant a period and 2 weeks after stopping bc and they typically say a womans fertility decreases because either hte eggs arent as viable or they time for her to get pregnant is harder as well a woman in her 30's and later is at a higher risk of having a baby with a genetic defect plus just because you have a period doesnt mean you are fertile you may have had kids and now think you are fertile when in reality you are less fertile but not barren i mean thnk of how many women who are younger think they are fertile when in reality they try and try only to find out they are barren so i guess it may be genetics i font know but its a guessing game with anyone as to fertility or barren

when you say that you were very fertile I though it was because you were in your 10th + child
please do not gloat not all woman is able to get pregnant at the age of 37 so you are lucky
but as for your ? Yes & No remember we are all made differently some of us might have problem not because of age but because of we just do while
I had no problem when I was younger but once I turn 34 I had a misc at 35 one more at 36 another
guess what I am fertile but this problem is because of my husband chromosone
my honest view is get yourself some reading materials about women body or ask your doc
why are you fertile

I am as fertile as they come. Since 1995 there has only been one calendar year that I have not been pregnant in, not counting this one because we hope to TTC starting March. Every time I have started to TTC it has only taken me 3 tries to get pregnant. Even this last time and I am now 31 years old. But each woman is different. Having 2 children in an almost 20 yr time span does not prove to be overly fertile but does show that you do still have some fertility left, even if fading.

I guess it depends on the woman really but in general woman are more fertile earlier on (according to text books) although my mum had three children between the ages of 30 and 35 who were all perfectly healthy, I'm not planning on finding out though lol had my lot now :)

You would only be "as fertile as they come" if you are getting pregnant year after year, as some of those women in generations past did. My husband is one of 11, and my mom was one of 9, I am one of 6.
Have you undergone testing regarding your fertility? I suppose each women is different, and that is what makes each of us wonderful. It's not dependent upon the menstrual cycle. I think you need to do some reading.
A woman's fertility decreases after 35, on her way to peri-menopause and menopause. The biggest changes in the past two generations to fertility in women have been environmental in nature (hormones in the water system), and chemical (additives in food).

It's going to be variable when you look at particular individuals but the statistics show the pattern of decreasing fertility with age.

I think it does vary for all women. I also think as long as you've had a child before 30 then your fertility is not as bad as the doctors say it should be. That's just my opinion.

a woman can get pregnant all the way as much as menopause. women getting pregnant after the age of 40 is particularly common. a bad heart situation has no longer one element of do with no count if or no longer a man or woman can get pregnant.
