When someone watches news that is biased toward their own beliefs they don't see it. It seems normal. FOX seems normal to me. But I have to admit that I would not recognize a conservative bias as easily as I would see a liberal bias. So, if a conservative is calling a program fair it probably slants their way. By the same logic, dems call most of the other media fair so its safe to assume it slants their way.
Rush can't be included in these discussions because he basically does editorials not news.

There is little doubt that the FOX news channel is more to the right of center. thats why a lot of people watch it. The broadcast news media along with many news stations on cable have nearly always been left leaning and it is a known fact that as many as 90 percent of the anchors and broadcasters are on the liberal side of the ledger. Its not like they don't admit it. Broadcast news stations have for many years featured programing that has been demeaning and disproportionately left of center. Its not necessarily content all the time-its just the way the stories are presented that can make all the difference. And FOX presents personalities of the left on many more occasions then the others ever thought about having the right side of the argument even mentioned. Must more fair and balanced then Dan Rather amongst others. Why do you think FOX news channel won the popularity contest 15 out of the first 16 categories lately? Folks get tired after awhile continuously having the country and the military downed by the talking heads. Normal people started questioning if they were getting the real news rather then from somebody elses perspective that had an agenda. Embarrassing blunders by the news departments in recent years have highlighted overwhelming bias using phoney paperwork to back up stories that didn't exist. They ran with them anyway and got caught by bloggers making sure they didn't get away with this silliness. Some came right at election time but the nets sat on the stories for months without verification and ran them when it was determined by the powers that be that they could do the most damage. Surly and inept reporters covering press conferences grew bolder in attacking Republican administrations while paying little attention when the dems were in office-they only covered then because the stories were already past them in other media sources so they could not totally ignore them. Very few news sources are middle of the road or unbiased anymore.

Fox unlike other "mainstream" outlets has as many liberals as conservatives. Hannity vs Colmes, Greta vs O'Reilly, Sheppard vs Cavuto, etc. Try and do the same for CBS, NBC, or ABC. Rush Limbaugh never promotes himself as being unbiased, in fact he revels in his conservatism. Koppel, Jennings, Gibson and other mainstream anchors put out an image of fairness and being unbiased. They however show great bias on how they report and what they report, even making up false reports...Dan Rather and the forged Bush documents. If you get the chance to see any mainstream anchors at a college university you will see just how biased they are. After it appeared that Al Gore was going to win Florida in the 2000 election Dan Rather actually said "we won". People are so use to the bias that it has become natural, and when an alternative source like fox news comes out it shows you just how far we have come to the left over the past forty years. What is funny is how the mainstream media calls Fox biased towards the right when they have been biased for decades towards the Left.

If you read the conservative and liberal blogs you will find the political biases in the news. You can also see it when they report about something you know about or do the research yourself.
Iraq is an easy one to find bias. The AP has used a source that doesn't exist for 64 stories. In those stories are inflated death counts (based on offical numbers given out at press briefings) and reports of events that never happened including mosques being destroyed and Sunnis being burned alive in front of Iraqi troops. The reports I read also say that thousands of Iraqis are fleeing Iraq (although the CIA online fact book says Iraq as a net zero migration rate which means that if a 1,000 people are fleeing Iraq, then 1,000 are coming in to settle in Iraq).
The fighting in Iraq is also contained in 5 of 18 providences in Iraq and according to the online CIA fact book, the death rate in Germany in 2006 was twice that of Iraq. The death rate of France and the U.S. is also higher than that in Iraq. The news reports I read have Iraq falling apart when it's no worse than what's hapeening in Mexico and Columbia.
Also in the story of global warming, the Earth's temperature rose .7C in the 20th century, yet the economic world wide gaines was 1,800% from the 19th century. Now where does the various mediums stand on global warming vs economic progress?
Also look at the media as far as what they put on. I shall call it Anna Nichole Smith vs Cpl. Jason Dunham and Sgt. 1st Class Paul Ray Smith. Both Dunham and Smith recieved the Congressional Medal of Honor (The U.S.'s highest military reward) in Iraq. Which side got more coverage from which medium?

The media is certainly biased. Most of them come from
Liberal colleges they've attended who push liberalism.
At least Fox has people from both sides. Rush always
puts the liberal or Democrat's call on before all the other calls,
so maybe he's biased on the liberal side. He's fair that way.
Of course he is a Conservative, just like all on CNN, MSNBC,
ABC, CBS. NBC are all LIberal. That doesn't quite even the
playing field, but that's okay, we conservatives can take it.

I think the answer is that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
Republicans and Conservatives see CNN, MSNBC, etc. as biased for the left. Democrats and Liberals see FOX as biased for the right.
From where I sit, both are correct. If you watch a show and find that the presentation, content and commentary doesn't agree with your world view, then you are going to view what you are watching is biased.

fox often get the biased lable because they are the opposite bias as the other major news chans, and they are not nearly a subtle about it.
the other networks tend to be liberal. since you can see the bias of fox, i'm gonna guess you are not just too dumb to see it, but since you don't see it on the other networks, i'm gonna guess that is because you tend to agree with the bias.
ps... even most concervatives don't put too much stock in what limbaugh says anymore.... he was just on of the early conservative spinsters, and has been replaced by much more level headed pundits since.

Actually Fox News just had an hour special on about Obama's run for the presidency.
And Rush is not the media, he is an entertainer, not a news anchor

The media doesn't agree with Republicans 'alternative' view of reality, so therefore it must have a liberal bias.
