i know this sounds stupid, but i want to know what is better. also if you say that ps2s are better, can you tell me if gamecubes are good anyway? (what i mean is which one is more fun and entertaining.)

Personally, I would recommend the PS2. Unlike the Nintendo GameCube, Sony's branch of titles are much wider in variety and also more acclaimed. It is true that the GC is targeted more at younger audiences, but it has a handful of 'Mature' rated titles to choose from (particularly "Resident Evil 4", but it has since been ported to the PS2 with extra features not originally included in the Nintendo release).
The GC does support a wider range of color, according to what I've heard, and better graphics than the PS2, but how can they really shine if you don't have projects that seperate itself from those with slightly lower graphical-power and receieve higher praise? What kept the GC alive was it's exclusive brand-name titles; Mario, Metroid, Legend of Zelda. While the PS2 has acclaimed developers from all over the world; Konami, Rockstar, Square-Enix.

Gamecubes are more for little kids maybe 6-9 but ps2s are for mostly everyone. There are some rated T games for gamecube but very few rated M games. If you like rated T games I buy the ps2 but if you like kid games like Super Mario Sunshine get a game cube.

Game Cubes ROCK! I have both and I got sick with the PS2 within 2-3 weeks but the GAMECUBE ROCKS BECAUSE IT HAS BETTER GAMES! IN FACT I KNOW A HIGH SCHOOLER WHO GOT ANOTHER GAMECUBE FOR HIMSELF BECAUSE HE WANTED TO PLAY IT IN HIS ROOM RATHER THAN GOING INTO YHE BASEMENT. HE SEEMS TO PLAY THE GAMECUBE THE MOST TOO!
SO GET THE GAMECUBE-CHEAPER AND
GRRREEEEEAAATT GAMES!!!!
ANYWAYS-WHO CARES ABOUT THE DVD PLAYER THAT COMES WITH THE PS2!
NOTE: IT IS IS GREAT FOR EVERYONE DON'T LISTEN TO THE OTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if u like games that are kinda kiddie and stuff like that, get a gc. if u like shooter games get a ps2. the two hardly mix. there are less that 20 M rated games for the gc. more than half of the ps2's library is rated M or T

I own both, and like both.
If you like RPG's, then I'd say PS2.
If you like party/co-op, mario, or zelda games, then I'd say GC
If you have the cash, I'd get both.
PS2 has: Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Resident Evil, and many other good games.
GC has: Mario, Zelda, Metroid, RESIDENT EVIL 4!!!!!
But in the end, it's up to you...
