I'm looking at purchasing about 130 acres. Most of the acrage is wooded. I'd like to let a logging company come in and clear cut about 80 acres. Can I set it up so that they'll removed all the stumps and clean up and regrade the land behind them rather than pay me for the timber? I'd like to make the 80 acres into horse pastures.

Thanks.

Better than removal just ask if they have a stump grinder, usually on the boom of like a backhoe they just grind the stump into the ground, not sure the cost though

Your very fortunate to have that, but yeah if your having a good dream you might. If you pay them money ,maybe.I've never heard of a logging company doing that,I know Pacific Lumber would not touch it.
