And why this album?

Please don't make me laugh with something like 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Trying."

It's hard to nail down to just one, but ..."The Wall", by Pink Floyd would get my vote...
but hat's off to both The White Album and Abbey Road by The Beatles!

I don't know if I can pick any one single album. I like Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon, and Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti. They're pretty good. Van Halen's debut album would be pretty close to the top too.

I'm sure there are a lot that could fit that description. But, in my opinion The Beatles White Album would certainly be in the running for the top spot.

"Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," by The Beatles, although Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" and Miles Davis' "Birth of the Cool" are both way way up there. Sinatra's "In the Wee Small Hours" is excellent, as is Count Basie's "April in Paris."

But yeah, "Bat Out of Hell" is my personal favorite!

Bat out of Hell by Meat Loaf

Truth is no company wanted it. Now it is one of the best selling albums of all time. Who's the dummy now.

Abby Road, Beatles. All of this music will go down in music history and is being covered by every type of music genre out there.

This Mortal Coil's "Filigree and Shadow". It's a brilliant work that goes into a lot of different musical textures seamlessly.
