The b**bs gave us our first taste of pleasure. The asses, in the beginning, were meant to assist rear entry - missionary style came later. Inevitably, asses being somewhat the same for each sex, some attracted males to enter other males - somewhat to the surprise of the first one who "deviated" from the norm. Hence the term "deviate," which at the time meant innovative or adventurous.
