I went out with a girl for about 18 months, about 6 years ago, when we were at uni. We had an incredibly close, passionate but sometimes stormy relationship. Then there was a period where, after Id left, Id still travel to see her, 150 miles away, and we remained close, and were a bit on-off. I've had other short-lived relationships since then, after we had a clean break about 3 years ago, but have thought about her all the time, and compared everyone I've been with to her, because there was just a closeness and understanding, Id never had before, and not since.
Randomly, I Emailed her the other day, the 1st communication in 3 years, and we spent the next 3 days just talking over the internet. What do you think I should do now?

In the Emails, she was asking me lots of questions, like who I was living with, if I had any pets, if I was still in a band, etc?

Ask yourself wot went wrong if anything and why. we all grow up and sometimes we throw things away because we dont have time for them, the world is an interesting place, we want to get out there and try everything. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing and at times you look back an can say I wish i had have stuck with that, i didnt realize what i had etc. the meer fact that my 1 email you have been talking for three days seems to say that you both hold very fond memories of each other. tell her how you feel, you have nothing to lose, if she has moved on, then you must too, if she hasnt then you two are made for each other

Yes I dated "Jim" for about 2 months and we broke up for 4 years not seeing or talking to each other (at the time I couldn't stand him). I am now married to "Jim" we have been together for 15 years married 8 and couldn't be happier. I'd say go for it. A lot of things can change in a few years. I know they did for me :) Good Luck !

i think of now and returned married couples circulate via levels the place they question their thoughts approximately their spouses, surprisingly if there are issues or rigidity. Having a job that takes him away plenty could be a piece, to boot. that's confusing to comprehend the way somebody so romantic and loving and committed would desire to unexpectedly come to a decision he's now no longer IN love with you and needs a divorce. I hate to assert it, besides the undeniable fact that that's achieveable he has somebody else. What undesirable timing. i do no longer comprehend what you're able to do to re-ignite your romance. possibly you will desire to ask him if he will circulate to counseling with you. solid good fortune.

Take it as it comes. By all means, arrange to meet up, but be prepared that when you do, it could turn out for one of you (or both) that this present period is just 'distance lending enchantment' If so, it was worth trying. If not, and it all blossoms then you can move on from there.

I broke off a relationship back in 2000, and wrote a friendly note to my ex in 2004.
She called me right away... I fixed her computer, then we talked a few times, and resumed the relationship.
Yes, it's possible.

yes it is but are you sure that this is what she wants?
going to a high school reunion was fun for three days but I really never meant it when I said lets stay in touch

Ask yourself seriously what went wrong the first time and discuss it with her.
Are you both willing to change it.
are either one of you willing to move?
GOOD LUCK
it CAN work
but it has to be more than a casual attempt to do so

It sounds like it might work. But, did you two break up or did you mutually decided to separate due to distance? If distance caused you two too stop dating then I say you have a good chance of getting back together. If you broke up then whatever caused it will more than likely cause it again.

Talk on the phone, go very slow, get your ground rules established, and go for it. Obviously, there are still feelings and you need to work through them. I wish the both of you the best of luck!

Sounds like first love.

I say go for it.

Sometimes people don't stay together simply from other factors like bad timing and distance.

It sounds like it deserves a second chance. Don't you think?
