Rap or Rock?

I personally don't feel rap is music. It is poetry with a rythm. Rap usually has no chord progressions=not music. Hip hop of the old days was good, but rap nowadays is a joke. "Artists" like 50 cent now just random yell out hey! and ho! and put some insignificant lyrics in between. They talk about themselves and their money, which wasn't what it used to be. Rock at least holds its root in most circles. But Emo has become a sad and pathetic excuse for rock. Every garage band that thinks it has skills calls itself rock and tries to sing with its abercrombie fitch lead singer.

Aerosmith is rock, lynrd skinner. With those two, I consider rock the winner!
