I want to add news content legally to a website but am not sure how to do it. For ex if Tiger Woods quotes of "I had a great game today" at "SPORTS.com", can i add these quotes to my website? How would I source it legally? Any legal things to look for when citing news/quotes from other websites?

You need to accredit the source (footnotes are fine) and add a copyright disclaimer on the site. You are allowed to do this under "Fair Use" laws, so long as you are not deriving direct financial benefit from the use of the copyrighted material (this doesn't mean that you can't have advertisers on your site - that's indirect financial benefit. Direct would be if you were selling copies of the quotes to members of the public for a fee, for example).
