circumcised

2007-02-10 09:16:48 · answer #1 · answered by Cartman 3 · 1 1

Uncircumcised.

We debated through the cleaner/uncleaner ideas and then took it back to the Bible where it was done to show allegience to God in the OT but the NT says circumcision of the heart (Romans 2:29) (obedience) is what is important. And still debated, flip-flopping our decisions. When I was pro dh was con & visa-versa.

Still praying about it I had a dream of a blonde curly haired naked & uncircumcised toddler running through a field with the thought "If the Son therefore shall make you free ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:36) I was con & so was dh and that finally settled it.

No problems. No issues.

Funny side note: our boy was dark-haired, dark-eyed, olive-skinned at birth but by 2 he was fair skinned with blonde curly hair & blue eyes like my dream. (Not that he ever ran naked through a field...)

(and I've read that apendixes are needed as part of a young child's growing immune system?)

I support the practice of circumcising boy babies. Having had a little brother who required a circumcision as a boy after not having been done just after birth, I have long vowed that any son of mine will be circumcised.
It is easier to keep clean, it prevents little infections and other foreskin problems. Like wisdom teeth, retaining the foreskin can result in later problems. It is so simple to do for a baby just after he is born and actually quite common throughout the world.

It's your decision but I wouldn't go any information you get on here because most of it is incorrect since it comes from people who are against it. I work in the OR as a surgical technologist and do about 3 to 5 of these procedures a day. I have assisted on many of these and hardly ever see a baby cry. And they DO use an anesthetic upon the request of the mother. Most of the time they do not but it is not needed. Anyone that knows the anatomy of a newborn babies penis would know that there are NO nerve endings in the tip of the penis at that time so they do not feel pain. I've seen babies have a worse reaction to the little heel prick they get right after birth. As far as this comment .....God made us perfect, if foreskins are a health hazard, they would've never been put there.....ummm last time I checked the appendix is pretty much useless and can be a health hazard (which is why it is removed if a surgeon is doing any kind of surgery where the appendix is able to be reached) and God put it there regardless so I guess that statement just got shot to hell. Like I said you need to get some facts from someone that actually knows like maybe a doctor or someone that has actually been in the room and seen the procedure done instead of people that watch these ridiculous videos they find on the net.

don't do it.
I never met an uncircumcised man before my husband. He is from Europe. At first i thought an 'intact' man would be dirtier and all of that. But, it isn't true. He just has more to clean. If you think about it, women also have more to clean!
Plus, i have heard men who were circumcised as adults say they get less pleasure.

Blah Blah Blah to everyones negative answers. I think everybody makes this a bigger issue then it needs to be!! It's up to you in the end and do what you think is best. We chose to have our son circumcised and I'm not about to defend why we did because I don't judge people who don't do it. Nobody was there for my son's procedure but us and he was numbed, it only took 15 min. He never cried and did great through the healing process. So to all the people who say it's babaric or multilation, I just shrug t off my shoulder. Because if it was as bad as everyone says or thinks it is we wouldn't have done it. People just shouldn't judge period!! But obviously our world isn't perfect!

People really need to find REAL issues to complain about or to be against when it comes to our children!! Like abortion!! Now that's inhumane!!

ETA*** Proper ansethetic is used on babies!! Most all doctors and hosptals are all for pain relief for this procedure nowadays. Way back then they didn't use anything!

There is really no need to circumcise most boys. The US is the only industrialized country with routine infant circumcision still largely in place. I don't hear of epidemics in other countries relating to boys who don't know how to clean themselves.

There was a recent study relating to STD risk (particularly HIV) being higher in intact men. I question the reliability of that study.

On a light note: I find sex with my "INTACT" husband wonderful! How dare anyone assume that sex is more pleasurable if your circ'd.
God made us perfect, if foreskins are a health hazard, they would've never been put there.
They protect the super-sensitve penile head and glands. When you cut that off, the penis becomes de-sensitized. Of course sex will still feel good to a circ'd man, but no-where as good as for an un-circ'd man.

When proper body-hygiene is practiced, an un-circ'd penis is no more at risk for any diseases, that's just BS to assume they would be. If you think about it, you're removing the safety barrier, I would say a circ'd penis is open and more susceptible.

Let your boy become a man and decide for himself. At least as an adult, proper anesthetic will be used.....somehow newborns are super-human and feel no pain....yeah right...

My son was circumcised, it's for health reasons. Little boys aren't known for their personal hygiene. It'll be easier to keep clean, also there have been studies done that show a higher risk of penile cancer in uncircumcised males. www.webmd.com may have further answers for you.

I agree with circumcision. But that is a personal choice. I am prego with a boy and he will be circumsiced when he is born. Good luck.
