Europeans think, question and challenge their governments.

Americans are told questioning or challenging their government is unpatriotic.

Europeans prefer the social structure of unity, the striving for the good of all.

Americans prefer individuality, persons striving for their own best which is not necessarily the best for society.

There is very little difference between the U.S. and the U.K. but between the U.S. and continental europe there is a vast difference in the fundemental philosophy.

"…..One view, the Anglo-American, holds that human ability to comprehend, adjudicate, and arrange the world around us is limited; that the only attainable goal is continuously to improve the conditions which enable individuals to achieve the personal best. The other view, predominantly Franco-Germanic, places human reason at the center of our existence, claiming that certain people are capable of comprehending, adjudicating, and arranging the world around us; and that such people are called upon to guide all others toward an increasingly perfect and just world in which all desires will have been either eliminated or satisfied."

The difference in this fundemental philosophy is illustrated best by the difference between the French Revolution and the American revolution.

“In the same number of years it had taken America to travel the road from the Declaration of Independence to the signing of the Constitution, the French went from beheading their king to the coronation of their new emperor. The mindless slaughter that filled the gap was the translation of French political philosophy into practice.”

It is this difference that explains why the philosophy practiced by continental Europe has given us, Napolean, Hitler and Stalin.

There is also a difference in temperment.

"But the more important reason (the American revolution and government bear little resemblance to France) has to do with intent and perhaps, temperament. In France, the old regime had to be discarded….The unavoidable consequence was a power struggle among groups, each proposing ideas, opposed to principles and corresponding means for a framework of government. (American revolutionaries ) proclaimed their quarrel with the “present King of England”, not with the existing system of laws. Indeed, the King stood accused of abandoning “the free system of English laws”….The measured sobriety of the Declaration ( of Independence) , even at a moment of the most intense emotions, is in stark contrast to the recurring outburst, the slogan oriented demagoguery that characterized events in France."

It is my belief that the Anglo-American philosophy is not only different but has been shown by history to be superior to the Franco-German philosohpy.

You'd have to be more specific. France, Germany, Spain, even England, Scotland Wales and Ireland within the UK have totally different cultures. I don't know much about American culture but from what I have seen, heard and read America has little culture no matter what part you look at. This is not a criticism, just an observation.
