The only way Team Obliterator and Randy "I'm just gathering" Moss are going to get in the HOF is if they buy tickets.

Is the Hall of Fame for players with the best statistics or the best players? T.O. has some great statistics but he cannot be considered a great player because of the way teams implode in his presence. If you like at the player aspect I don't think T.O. gets in the Hall of Fame. If you vote strictly on statistics then maybe. Michael Irvin is a very similar candidate with his off the field trouble and on the field performance but he was at least able to work with several other stars and win 3 rings. T.O.'s off field stuff has directly resulted in on the field problems as well so he won't get a fee pass like Irvin did.

The answer to your actual question is no. Even if T.O. makes the Hall the press won't feel bad because the press typically has no remorse at all for anything. Even if he becomes the model teammate for the next 3-5 years all you will hear about is what could have been in Philly or Dallas or Baltimore. Even if he wins big he will be a "changed" man according to the press. They will always frame the rest of T.O.'s career based on the "truth" of their position now.

I don't think "stupid" is the right word here. For the most part, I don't think that the press doubts the talent that is T.O. What they don't care for, and what he gets ripped on the most, is his nonchalant attitude towards teammates, coaches and the media as well as his off the field troubles.

The only criticism I hear regarding his playing ability is the fact that he drops key passes from time-to-time and this has happened his whole career: in SF, Philly and Dallas. That being said, the press will eventually HAVE to vote him into the HOF because his numbers really are (and will be after his retirement) impressive. They might not like him as a person, but his stats can not be denied. Unless of course we find out a few years from now that he was using (or allegedly used) an illegal substance (a.k.a. the Mark McGwire syndrome) or he tails off at the end of his career like Jim Rice (who the press didn't like as well) did. These things will of course keep him out of the HOF. (Sorry about the baseball examples but they seemed to fit the argument best.)

The Hall of fame is based on more than just stats. The character of the player, and how he represents and upholds the value of football are a factor too. T.O. represents everything thats wrong with football today, he should learn just to shut his mouth and hold on to the ball.

If the HOF was based on stats alone then Pete Rose would be in the baseball hall of fame, but he tarnished the name of baseball. Thats why Michael Irvin will also never be in the hall of fame

TO led the league in dropped passes. He will probably never see the hall of fame. But in regards to your question...media rip him because he is a terrible, selfish teamate and a cancer to every team he has been on. No one argues that he is one of the top 2 or 3 most talented receivers in the league. He is just a very selfish guy who is not a good teammate.

no they wont feel stupid, the people in the media and just about everybody else in the nfl respect T.O. as a PLAYER, he is a very good reciever, they just dont respect him as a person, he is not a very good person for other players to be around, horrible attitude, but hes a good player.....heres a good comparison, look at micheal irvin, he was a very good player, but he got a lot of criticism from the media for drug charges and his attitude as well, but he made the hall of fame this year

He isn't getting in the Hall, so no they won't. Dude I'm not trying to put him down either. I like him and I think he is good as a WR. The off-field things are going to kill him though. The HOF is very political in that sense and the voters aren't going to vote for him. Espically if there is another WR that year. Remember only 6 can go in per year.

T.O. is a talented WR but he is a cancer wherever he plays. No hall of fame in my opinion. HOF WR's don't lead the NFL in dropped passes

Is this a serious question?

T.O.'s critics dont judge him on his talent, we all know he is a great WR, they judge him on his attitude and chemistry with his teammates which is negative.

I doubt T.O. will even be conisdered for the Hall of Fame though.

TO will go in the hall of fame when I do, and I haven't played football since high school.

He's not. His stats are good, but he's no Jerry Rice. He only has a couple of seasons left in him, and people will always remember him as one of the most disruptive players ever in the NFL.
