I installed ceramic tile with .25 inch grout lines. I used unsanded grout, and have now learned I should have used sanded grout, due to this the grout is cracking. Can I repair the grout and if so how? Can I just add more grout, and if so do I use the same stuff or use sanded? Or do I have to remove the grout and redo it?

If you use more grout, it too will crack. You need to rake out the joints and re-grout using 'wide-joint' (sanded) grout. You can buy a special tool called a 'grout-rake', from most hardware stores and tile specialists, quite cheaply.

After re-grouting i might be an idea to use a grout sealer to prevent stains penetrating (it also helps stop discoloration).

Big job to remove the faulty grout, but necessary. If you add more of the same, it will only add to the problem, and not solve the underlying condition. Go to a reputable supply store and get the best product for your needs, and ask for detailed instructions. Take a sample of what you used, so you don't get the same product with a different brand name. Best wishes
