Got a call asking if I had lost anything.(I was coming back from the beach; we don't have snow here) Had lost naught that I knew of. The voice said I should think about it. I thought about losing anything, at which I am truly talented.
Voice phoned back, saying he had picked up my wallet in the street. News to me! Voice said it had R250 (Rands) in it. I said it could not then be mine(joke) HOWEVER Quentin found where I live and duly returned my wallet. I thanked him profusely and all he said was that maybe I could return the favour one day. I doubt he would appreciate any mention of a reward. What should I have done?

If you know his name and address you might send him a small token of your appreciation, maybe a gift card or gift certificate or a nice bottle of south african wine or something equally kind. Also write a thank you note thanking him again. He could have just pocketted the money and trashed your wallet and you'd have been none the wiser until you needed your wallet.

I think he meant if you find something not belonging to you you should return it to its rightful owner or just do something nice for someone you don't really know.

Go well.

Do something altruistic everyday. Even something small can make a huge difference to others. Your opportunity to do something for the man who returned your wallet may have gone- doing kind things for others will be the best way to show your appreciation for what he did for you. Maybe they will show their gratitude by doing the same. Spread a little happiness!

Am a great believer in 'what goes around, comes around', so send him a thank you note and say that you will pass on the good deed to the next person you come across who needs it. Kinda like randomly paying the toll charge for the person behind you on the freeway.

you'll be able to return the favour one day. Send him a thank-you card with some chocs or something and include your details so that when the time comes, this person can contact you.

Send him a note thanking him for the effort. Ask him to meet you for coffee or lunch and buy his. This would make him feel better about himself and others in society.

If anyone does you a good deed tell them you will repay it by doing ten good deeds. If anyone asks if they can repay you ask them to do ten good deeds. It might just spread good through the world.
