And should there be other Websites where students can post videos of excellent teachers doing a great job inspiring and teaching their students?
Shouldn't they all be exposed for their deficits as well as their talents?

To be fair, let me state that I am way past the age of school, college and grad school, and I'm not worried about any retaliation from school officials or boards, so I have nothing to lose by asking this question. Also, I do have some idea what a bad teacher is. Certainly many teachers are provoked, but who is supposed to be the adult and in control? Comparing teacher behavior to student behavior is not productive. I am asking about the teachers now. I can ask about students in a separate question.
Be honest, we all know it is practically impossible to fire a tenured teacher in a public school, unless he or she is a convicted criminal. So there are no real channels of recourse for a student who has a lousy teacher.

For now we have YouTube and Yahoo Videos
YES!!!
Its important that teachers are accountable for their actions.
My fifth grade teacher would throw stapelers at students and call them inappropiate names. If a student does something bad in the hallway it's videotaped and students are punished. A teacher does something in the classroom, students are only lying they say they can't take the students' word for it. I can see where the website can easily be corrupted but we have FREE SPEECH (free speech has responsibility too). Teachers have a difficult job (bad kids ect.) but their mission as a teacher is to take care and educate the next generation not kill them. It just takes restraint and nerves. They signed up for the job.

How would you feel if the question was reversred and it asked if teachers should be able to post videos of rude and disruptive students?
Who is to decide if a teacher is "horrible" or "excellent." Yes, there will always be some teachers that are more effective than others; however, that often depends on the subject matter and the students. If a teacher has to spend the entire hour on classroom management, he/she may not seem like a very good teacher. Also, just because a teacher is "fun" or well liked does not make him/her a "good" teacher.

No there should not be any. It is an invasion of privacy at whatever school you show up at. How do you know if that teacher is bad anyway? By listening to your friends? They may not like that teacher and everyone has a right not to like the teacher in question but by doing this, you are setting that teacher up for big trouble and if it comes to light that nothing bad had happened, then it could ruin this teachers career.
If a teacher is not being professional, yes it will be handled professionally and with tact and the school officials will see to it that this teacher or teachers will be dealt with.
You are only going to stir up trouble where there is none. Find something else to do and grow up. Nothing says that you have to like everyone.

First of all, I have a problem with the word "bad". On what criteria does a person determine what constitutes a bad teacher. This is one of those "a good defence is a good offence" situations. Does the student's poor performance/attitude bring out the worst in a teacher (ie. an irritant) or is the teacher truly unprofessional, unprepared, or just crabby. If these are legitimate complaints, then they should be resolved within the school system ie. principal, school boards, school trustees. Secondly, about posting pictures without someone's permission and for the purpose of embarassing them, it's called defamation of character, which is actionable in law. So, if you want a lawsuit on your hands that would be the fastest way to do it and keep in mind that even though you might be a minor, in some states the parents might be responsible to pay. Do you still want to publish pictures, cookie??

Essentially, a school is private property. Only people who have business there should be on the premises. Of course, that means parents, students, teachers, support staff etc all come an go freely. However, if a stranger who has no business at the school should arrive there, the school administration has a right to request he or she leave. Just because public money paid for the school building and supports its program, it doesn't mean it is public property when it comes to accessing the facility.
Therefore - what goes on in the school is happening on private property. Just as I would not want anyone to video and broadcast what goes on in my home, I don't want them doing that it my school.
If a teacher's job performance is inadequate, there are processes in the school board or college/university to deal with that. Violating individuals' privacy is not the answer.
By the way, I don't see the teachers proposing that student behaviour be posted on public websites....

Of course teachers care! They spend many hours with you every day. Teachers WANT to be with students that is why they choose their profession. Teachers don't just care if something horrible happens they care even if good things happen too!

Do you think there should be a special Websites where teachers can post videos of bad students? If you should be able to do one; you should be able to do the other. How would you feel if your name was on there?
Fair is fair.

YES.
Especially College Professors.
Maybe it would help them mature if they and others saw how they look to students.
