I love it when my parents leave messages that say
"Hey its your parents, we were just calling you to talk."
Like I wouldn't recognize their voices or there might be more than one possible reason to call me.

I once got a message saying "hey, it's you-know-who. You-know-what happened to Frank. Call me back."

Yes, my mother does it all the time. Then when I call her back she can't remember what she wanted. If she would say on the message what she wanted it would make life so much easier

a bigger 'duh'... someone called me the other day and left this recording: "never mind. i won't talk to an answering machine!" i think she missed the irony of that statement.
