Hey!
UCONN is a GREAT SCHOOL! I went to ECSU a smaller state college right down the road...for me it was better b.c it was smaller, but I had lots of friends at UCONN and worked on campus at the survey center for a few years! They are home to Championship basketball men's and women's team for years! GREAT SCHOOL, great course, one of the US best public colleges...Lots of major to chose from and great fac. that can help you too! Housing is good as well, many new things on campus and I have a good friend of mine who owns a mexican cantania just off the campus! :) There's lots of Parties too! But for academics it's GREAT! It's in a small town setting but lots to do and great people overall! CT is a great state, lots to do and see, it's kinda like the suburbs of Boston and NYC! :) Hartford has come great night life too It's about 35 mins from campus! Also local hot spots or bars are....Huskies & Ted's....what are u planning on studying, they have a great agriculture program and business is great too! :) Lots of cultures and people from all over so you won't be alone in a new country! :) GOOD LUCK!!!!! I hope you get to visit the campus as well! :) GOOD Ole' STORRS!

I am not as wildly enthusiastic about UConn as jilreh, but it is a very respectable school. The state of Connecticut as a whole has high educational standards, and UConn students are drawn from the better students all over the state. Many out of state students also apply there. THe faculty and facilities are quite good and the school is respected as one of the better, though not the very top, state universities.

The town where UConn is located is not very exciting, and a lot of the students commute home for weekends. So campus life is not as active as city schools like Northeastern, or residential schools like say, Nebraska. Hartford is marginally acceptable for nightlife, but Boston and New York are just 2 -3 hours away if you have a car.

In general, I would say that you could get a very good education there, and your degree would be respected. You would have a good time there and meet a lot of good students.

There's little need for it. The university board already allows for observant scholars not to attend categories on their respective devout vacations, which in my revel in is the coverage in such a lot American public university districts. All it takes is a word from both guardian or clergy and the absence is excused. This suggestion used to be introduced up by means of the scholars. Without extra expertise, there is no method to recognise what the incentive in the back of it's. It appears just like the university board is not going to difference the prevailing coverage; my wager is that they're on the grounds that the inspiration most effective in view that not to accomplish that could lead them to appear dismissive of the pupil's opinion. American colleges do not near for Christmas or Easter; public colleges have Winter Break and Spring Break, which at the same time quite simply coinciding with the aforementioned Christian vacations, are not the only intent for scholars being off. Chanukah and Eid most of the time fall inside the Winter Break interval as good, and as a realistic subject it honestly is sensible to not have the universities open in the course of the 'excursion season'. Spring Break does not have any devout import in any respect. it is a throwback to while kids had been had to aid at the household farm; because of this American scholars to at the present time nonetheless revel in a 3-month Summer excursion. None of the above implies that someone organization (i.e. Christians) is being given distinct privilege, and for this reason there's no rationale for measures making an attempt to 'stability the dimensions'.
