Oh that!!!! It is probably just pitch and resins for the wood you are burning. Your flue probably has a leak, and smoke is pouring into your wall. I would advise that you have a professional inspect your flue, and clean your chimney. This could be a very serious condition that deserves immediate attention. No more fires until it gets inspected. Get out the blankets instead.
