I've tried starving him but still he will not touch dog food regardless if it is most expensive or the cheapest, he knows it's dog food and he thinks he's a person.

When introducing different food to a dog it should be done gradually a little at a time alongside their usual food. Your dog needs reminding YOU are the leader of the pack in your home, he is not your equal. I suggest introducing the food you wish him to eat gradually. Put down his dish at set times and pick it up some 20 minutes later whether, or not, he has eaten anything. Fresh clean drinking water should always be available. Make sure he does not have access to anything else to eat. It may be hard but you need to be consistent and at some point he will have to give in because he'll be so hungry. He is a dog, you are his owner - you need to be in charge and be firm but loving. He needs to know his place. Good luck.

I have the same exact problem. My dog is completely and utterly spoiled! We would starve her but still she would not touch her food. Give your dog time. Don't give him/her table scraps. Don't give him/her excessive treats. Treat your dog like well a dog not a human. haha :] Oh and if your dog is loosing hair like too much you should definitely see a vet. My dog had some sort of animal under her skin which caused her to loose a lot of hair, loss of appetite ( fussy over food ), lack of energy and her bones hurt. But if your dog is just fussy remember he/she is a dog not a baby. :]

It in all possibility won't harm, yet cat foodstuff is formulated for cats, no longer canines. attempt blending a splash cat foodstuff with the canine foodstuff. additionally, it is going to likely be a solid thought to place away the cat foodstuff at canine feeding time. whilst the canine learns that canine foodstuff is what she receives, she would be able to consume it.

Some animals only like their food warm. Have you tried throwing it in the micro for 20 sec or so? Just be certain it's not too hot!
