I'm not gay and it doesn't matter how long ago the movie came out. My question is about the Universe, not the movie!!!

I have always imagined that we are only the equivalent of the ant farms we used to make at school in the greater scheme of the universe & such things. So the final scene of the movie was just as I would have epxected. I am fairly sure that we are only like a tiny speck of dust on the edge of a vast uviverse full of beings so intelligent that we will appear as amoebas.

I believe it could be true, we are a little naive about our knowledge of the universe and don't think in terms of size of appearance, because it is out of our reasoning to even acknowledge we could be wrong.
