Eager to reward my daughter for her good school grades, we gave her a brand new laptop which works great and also a brand new There lies the problem. I saw INTEL 3.2 GHz and went for it to only to find that the stupid PC is USELESSLY slow. I do mean USELESS.... Absolutely useless. It takes ages to do anything !! It is an INTEL 'Cerelon' and came with only 256 of memory and so my question is: Will the installation of 1GB of memory bring the PC to normal speed ? Will it solve the problem ? Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks you. The model of the PC is "HP Pavillion a1507.uk" -- Thanks again

Yes, adding RAM is the cheapest way to speed up any computer system.
256 Ram is not enough to do anything with in modern computers, and especially if running the XP operating system.
