Suggested reading: "Man's search for meaning" by Viktor Frankl. It will tell you more to your heart about concentration camps than any book of dry facts. But it will also answer your questions of factual enquiry like this.

yes becuase the germans needed to keep all the jews in line and accounted for so they ahd set meal times. A good book to read about the holocaust is call Nght, by a jewish man who survived the holocaust and the concentration camps. it isn't a book that just list facts, but you will see the real horrors of the holocaust through the eyes of this man. It will make you cry, thats how good it is.

Not really. There was an incident in the camp of Joseph Mengela. Giant vats were brought to a camp. Stuff was put in them to boil. The odors coming from the vats smelled like soup to the starving prisoners and they rioted. When the vats were knocked over the soup turned out to be human bodies being boiled to remove the flesh and muscle from bodies for Dr. Mengela's skeleton collection!
The treatment was ghastly and horrifying to the liberators and death was a relief to the prisoners. Some died within minutes of being found but they were happy to die in freedom instead of as a caged animal.

Um, without meal times all the prisoners would have died of starvation rather quickly, as opposed to dying slowly over a period of a year or so, or being shot in the head and thrown into a ditch, or being gassed to death as actually happened.
