It depends on the context in which the word is used. If you say they were bumping and grinding at the party- Then yes, dance provocatively. If you say the war in Iraq is grinding on - Then yeah it would mean a long drawn out fight with the enemy.

A wood shop teacher would not agree with A or B. A person who grinds teeth at night wouldn't agree either.
