Hi there!
It depends on your reading ability and interests, but here's what's hot at my middle school:

Anything by Chris Wooding: Poison, Storm Thief, The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray (Think Stephen King for teens)

City of Ember (in the future, after a world war, with two teen main characters)

Freaky Green Eyes (a girl is hiding a terrible secret & copes by creating another person within herself)

Fire-Us (a virus has killed all of the adults, a survival story about kids trying to find out if anyone is left)

Endymion Spring (set in England, parents marriage in trouble, a book that seems to have magical powers)

Zach's Lie (sequel: Jack's Run) (A family is forced into the witness relocation program after the father is arrested. Jack/Zach and his sister must make new friends in a new state, without revealing their true identies to anyone)

Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key (An easy read; hilarious tales about a boy struggling with ADHD & his strange family)

Hope there's a couple here that you will enjoy -
Marjorie

The Lord of the Rings: J. R. R. Tolkien, another book about Arda if you have read that (not the Unfinished Tales though, thats not really a single book).

The Northern Lights: Phillip Pullman, first book in His Dark Materials Trilogy.

The Secret.--- Teach you how to think positive in life
The Bible -- Teaches you how to act positive daily

Today we are remiss when we don't tell children that they can be, do and achieve anything that is legal, moral and has integrity.

Good Luck

I like the above answers. Another good one is Animal Farm (but if you do, ask someone to help you with understanding what the characters represent for real. It will help you understand things.)
