Other than some Islamic countries I'm not sure of who you are refering to. Simply explaining one's beliefs is not forcing anyone to believe anything.

Man wants others to support their ideas. If they don't, they try to find a way to MAKE them conform to their reality. Easier to keep your own beliefs and try to change the world around you than for you to change internally.
Teaching one's beliefs is one thing. Trying to force others to believe like them and convert is another.
By the way, I'm not a Muslim, but if you read the Koran, it says specifically that there is no compulsion in religion. Maybe some Muslims still try and do it (ex. the Taliban), but Muslims who truly follow the teachings of the Koran are against forcing religion on people, even their own.
Not trying to take away your point, but maybe Islam should not be included in your question.
And yes, I'm POSITIVE it is offensive to God to force others to believe like you do.

First thing first i don't belive in god, there is no God,even if there is one then he's totally powerless so if someone don't exist or have no power there's no point of him making mistakes. If there wud have been any god than thousands of innocent people would not have lost life on 9/11,neither millions of innocent poor Iraqi's had lost their lives, nor millions of animals who also live, breathe nd have relationship, families too have to loose their life to become someones dinner, shoes, purse had to die everyday. So there is no god for me.But that does'nt mean i won't respect people who pray him n tell me about his powers. The power is in Prayer not in God. There are some honest people who tells you how there life has changed because of him nd pursue you to become his follower,he can be God,Khuda,Bhagwan for them. They do this thing coz its the tendency of man to make evereyone they love agree to some thinking which they belive on deeply.Like ur dad pursuing you to join n vote the political party he loves. Then there are some Dealers who trade on a products name which even don't exist. They want to make you a member of their networking buissness or simply religion, so that the brand name of their religion or biz. can only expand.Just like sombody forcing you t join a political party he is a member of.They dream of the day when their god nd race will rule the earth. So we have these two kind of people in every religion on earth. Last thing - believe in yourself, be kind nd good, pray not in front of any rock but to yourself nd i gurantee this world will become a heaven for everyone.

We are doing what God has commanded of us. The Bible tells us to go out in the hedges and highways and compel men to come to him. God said "If I be lifted up from the earth I'll draw all men unto me". If we continue to lift his name, you may not be able to resist!

It should never be about how I serve God Vs.how you serve him, the question is, are you serving him?
