Does anyone know how Tony Montana got that scar on his face?

i am looking at the commentary (or bonus) dvd that came with the Anniversary edition of the Scarface dvd right now... first of all Tony Montana arrives in the US, in Miami from off the Mariel boats, already having the scar on his face. in the film itself the scar is ONLY mentioned when the immigration police guy interviewing him grabs his face and asks him (Tony) if he got it eating p u s s y . Tony just says " how'm i gonna get a scar like that eatin' p u s s y ?" and that was the ONLY timew it ever came up in the film On the commentary DVD for Scarface, Director Brian DePalma never mentions the scar at all as far as how Tony GOT it...he DOES say however that he tried out several different versions of the scar before settling on the one used in the film because he was worried the scar might come off as looking phony. Al Pacino who played Tony Montana in the film actually talks about the scar in this bonus DVD, he says he envisioned that Tony Montana liked fighting with a knife (being Hispanic, yes stereortypical ) and that he got that scar in a knife fight, Pacino says the fact that the cut (the scar) goes all the way DOWN the cheek and UP to the forehead thru the eyebrow suggests, to him, that Montana was a wild and chaotic person and sort of all over the place, like an animal.
ps Tony never was touched by the chainsaw in the movie.he Tony had the blood of Angel his compadre all over him cause the Columbian had his henchman chain Angel to the overhead shower rod and sawed off Angel's arm and then his leg (this scene is done ala Alfred Hitchcock in the movie Psycho, where you never SEE the violence or the actual cutting, but the suggestion is there thru camera angles and actor reactions and of course the Coumbian says what he is going to do.) Tony was right there being forced to watch and was shown being splattered with Angel's blood. I have watched this movie thousands of times. i suggest watching the DVD with the closed captioning turned on so you can actuaully read and know (if you don't understand Spanish) what the Spanish words being used actually are because they are translated into english text
