ok, i haven't been able to forget someone i was in a relationship with 3 years ago.

(just one of my many assumptions that the money you make matters a lot if not most: imagine having the opportunity to be rich and start your life elsewhere, far away, totally anew. beautiful but unreal.)

Create new memories so you think about those, and the bad memories are gone and off your chest.

You can't kill memories. You may be able to diminish their pain or the power that they have over you. I think the best thing to do is to make new memories.

You should watch "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" a fascinating & obscure little film starring Jim Carrey & Kate Winslet. It plays on the idea that you could choose to have memories erased (when it's someone who broke your heart, someone you'd rather not remember). It made me bawl my eyes out. I realized that I wouldn't erase anyone or anything. Even the ones that hurt me had value. They helped to make me who I am. Memories are precious. The key is not to dwell so much in the past that you can't enjoy the present. Live in present time. This moment is the only one within your control.

Take care.

Refuse to let the memories surface in your mind. Keep so busy that you don't even have time to think about that person or that relationship. Throw yourself into your work, get involved in clubs or community service, and do things you like to do. Join a sports team or read a lot (I love to read--it takes my mind off my problems!) or take a class in something new. While you're doing these things, you'll be meeting new people and making new friends and eventually you may even end up in a new relationship, although I wouldn't dwell on that as the primary reason to meet new people.

I know you will find that really cruel, however this is the only way..
you have to take a break, like a travel away from your city, go somewhere you always dreamt to go or just go to your parents for somedays, in the country or in a village... Take your best friend with you or call her if you feel depression. Don't sit at your house, go to the cinema, go to a club even if you don't feel it so. And most of all, try to fell in love again..I know it is hard, i can understand you..
but the guy you are thinking is propably with a new girlfriend and having fun while you r into depression..
Think about yourself and make the best choice for you..xxx

You don't kill them, eventually they kill you if you don't move on and that will happen if not now then in a year or two. Nevertheless you are richer for one more experience and have learned the depths of your soul. That person gave you a gift of how to love someone deeply no matter how much time has passed.

You sound as if you are practical and ideal. Remember that memories are golden and that it is permissible to project into the future that the good will achieve and succeed in a real tangible universe and that truth will win over falsehood as long as reason remains your only tool of cognition.

grab a bottle of ketchup along with a table spoon, break through the top film on the bottle with your trusty spoon, get some substance on the spoon and rub it on your left hand. Then stand on the bed in your spare bedroom, do little shimmy, dance a little and yell, "I want to go there" and before you know it, you will be cured of all illnesses, including memory loss

It's easy. Go down to Wal-Mart and buy the "EZ-Memory Eraser" kit, I think it's around $50....it's essentially a radial bone saw and a home woodburning kit, and you'll have to poke around a while in your brain to find where those memories are stored, but eventually you'll probably zap them

we can for give but forgetting is not up to us .when it comes to memories we must be careful what we do to make them as once they are in the head there there for good unless we can minimize the thought as not important and force our self into a new area of life ..so you want to for get the person hit yourself with a hammer at point of impack you well forget but the memories well comeback.do not fight your memories they are what make you ---you .good and bad

Write off the memories like a bad debt.
