An 'uncrossed' cheque is a cheque that may be cashed at a post office as opposed to a crossed cheque that MUST be paid into a bank account. I can of course ask at the bank if I were going to the bank anyway, but that is rather unlikely to happen on a saturday night.

You can pay and uncrossed cheque into your bank account. The thing with uncrossed cheques is anybody can pay it into any account even if it has not got thier name on it, thats why most cheques are crossed and say account payee only.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what do you mean by 'uncrossed"
never heard of the term as it relates to a bank
If you have to go to the bank anyway to attempt to deposit it, why not show it to them and ask. Some banks have different policies when it comes to everything
