I think more people do than we know about, if a relationship is left without an explanation or a person thinks it is their fault, directly or indirectly, they will pursue it a second and sometimes third time before realizing it really is finished. It's also true where one party leaves and the other still has ties to them, whether it be lust, love or children. So many have said it never worked the second time around, same issues as the first, but it has worked out in some relationships.
