I'd be willing to pay for them. It would be alot easier for me if I could just download the comics on my computer.

You, and I and a lot of other people. But so far, the major comic book houses have not yet started offering regular recent issues on line, that I am aware. I had been hoping that they would offer CD sets with their entire past year’s output on one CD. That way, we could all keep our issues in near mint condition and only read our CD’s on our PC’s!
Right now, the only way to do that is to run your comics through the scanner every month as you receive them in the mail. It is legal to archive them for insurance purposes, so that in event of a fire or flood, the insurers can determine how much your collection was worth and compensate you.
Having said that, there are some sits where you can find classic old comics, the likes of which most people can’t afford even when they are available. Check out Superman through the Ages which has his earliest appearances and some of his most famous stories from the 1930’s through the 2000’s.

No, to make a long story short
You should go down to your local comic book shop and buy some. Tell the shopkeeper what kind of stuff you like and he/she will guide you to books that might interest you.
If you don't have a comic book shop in your city, go down to the nearest book store, they usually stock trade paperbacks (collected comic book issues) but they'll probably not be able to guide you to books you might enjoy
