The Americans have some different ideas as to what to eat for breakfast.
I have just returned from a visit to Florida.
They cook bacon very thin and crispy, don't know how to make a sausage so avoid these.

The Americans have a much wider choice of breakfast, so try pancakes with maple syrup, the muffins and the omlettes (but not at the same time!).

For lunch, you have plenty of places serving steak, burgers, pizzas, and chicken.

Look for unusual fish or chicken dishes, but beware that US portion sizes are much larger than UK ones.
12 oz steaks are considered to be the norm, not the 4 or 6 oz ones we are used to.

Fries will be small (like Mcdonalds) and pre salted.

If you order a salad, they will expect you to eat it before serving the meat course - if you sit with the salad and wait, you will wait for a long time.

If you have a drink, such as coke, you will get a glass full of ice with a dash of coke - don't complain thats just the way it is.

Remeber they talk a different language,
if you want crisps ask for chips,
if you want chips ask for fries.

Enjoy and don't forget to tip (almost everyone!)

Magic Kingdom certainly. that's the region to fulfill each and all the characters, to no longer point out particularly some the main suitable rides and attractions are there, and so is Cinderella fortress. purchase a guidebook approximately traveling there with young toddlers so which you have a good option. Birnbaum's is the main suitable form obtainable. i advise which you bypass the Magic Kingdom on your first day, so the 1st factor your baby will understand is the magic fortress :) I remember that from while i became little, and bypass to the 'Kingdom' first factor each time i bypass there. additionally, there is lots to do on the dominion, you will certainly want an entire day a minimum of to get by using there. i'm no longer likely to lie, Animal Kingdom is little greater beneficial than a zoo with rides. i like it, i'm an animal individual, however the youngster certainly needs to bypass to the magic kingdom. the different 'maximum suitable park' i think of is Epcot. There are places for small little ones to play, and an aquarium the place they could (actually) discover Nemo. Hollywood Studios has some places for small little ones too. you're able to have a blast. And, just to alert you, you will need you had far greater time to be certain each thing the international has to grant. Disney international is each thing human beings say approximately it, and greater :) And that's consistently changing, so i do no longer think of all of us will ever see each thing.

Where in FL you going to be?

Try fresh seafood, especially pompano or deep water grouper (emphasis on deep water -- you don't want to know why, but trust me -- yellow tail only.) or scamp.

In Dade or Monroe counties, go for conch or soft shell crab if you like seafood.

In Sarasota, you really should go to one of the Amish restaurants (Yoder's is the best) and have some pie)

If you try key lime pie, make sure it is not green coloured. Key limes are yellow - and the pie should be also.

Don't miss out on authentic Cuban cooking in south Florida -- breakfast of pan con mantiquilla y cafe con leche (Cuban bread and Cuban coffee with milk) or add some jamon (ham); dinner -- palomilla steak, or lechon asado, with yuca y plantanos maduros o moros cristianos (frioles negros con arroz blanco)

In Tampa, get a Cuban sandwich. In Miami, a Media Noche.

When you visit the U.S. you should always go to lunch around 12:30 pm or dinner around 6pm.

When we visit Florida, the buffets are the best. This way you can try a little of everything and this is much better than saying, "We had oysters in Florida"!

If you go to a grocery store, make it Albertson's - they have the most delicious hamburger rolls (yeasty and sweet - reminded me a little of a croissant).

Enjoy your visit!

It really depends on what area you will be visiting. Different areas have different specialties.Up north in the panhandle and gainesville area they are famous for fabulous oysters and crawfish. On the East coast, there is a lot of mexican and Jamaican food. On the West coast, lots of seafood and fun foods and down south, key lime pie, gator and conch. Hope you have fun.

There are three things that "define" Florida food:

- key lime pie (originating in Key West)
- raw oysters (preferably from Apalachicola)
- pecan pie (lots of pecan groves in North Florida

I would make sure to try all three of these treats when you are visiting. You won't be disappointed!

If you are to visit Cedar Key on the gulf side the shrimp and mullet platter is great, you can get it at almost any seafood restaurant there...also red snapper and grouper

Oysters, shrimp, mullet, grouper, red snapper, blue crab, stone crab, in Northwest Florida
Further south try lobster, conch fritters, gator tail. Always ask your server if a particular seafood is fresh, most will tell you if you are nice to them.
