Was President Truman right in allowing the use of the Atomic bomb in the Second World War?

hard to say. i think it wasn't. the war would have been won anyway. i doubt the claims of the number of casualties if we had invaded. the russians were helping us sucessfully against the japanese.

Anyways, Lets look at it from a different point of view. Germany was also working on the bomb. One Scientist purposefully sabotage the calculation because he thought it was too horrible of a weapon to use. They lost. Japan was also working on their own WMD. They were experimenting on biological weapons. They also had some submarines that can carry airplanes underwater. It could of launched attacks on the west coast.

It may have saved the lives of many Americans, but I think it was important for other reasons. It sent the message to the rest of the world that it is not a good idea to mess with us.

Yes,otherwise hundreds of thousands of americans would have died in the liberation of japan so it was a direct response to japanese aggresion.Nowadays japan is our ally and this shows japan's forgiveness of us and understanding of what we had to do.

Absolutely, it saved hundreds and thousands of UK and USA lives. Also saved more Japanese lives than it cost.
