I have 3 roomates and two of them dont clean at all. Myself and my closest roomate clean the appartment top to bottom every other weekend, moping, sweeping, bleaching, dusting, and cleaning the bathrooms. I'm quite certain that they've only cleaned their bathroom 2 times in 5 months and never once dusted, mopped, or vaccumed the common area. It's pitiful and were getting fed up with it all! How do we stop it?!

Tell them that it is only common courtesy to help in the cleaning, why should you have to clean up after them. Assign weekly chores for the common areas Try breaking it down to where one person does one thing each week. Such as Joe dusting one week, then the next week he does the sweeping.....Bob would vacuum one week then the next week do the dusting. If they do not want to clean, then they can pay you to do their chores. Or everyone can pitch in and have a maid service come in and do it for you each week. Dont worry about their bathrooms, if they are the only ones that have to live with them.

Hi why not spilt the cost on a cleaning service? Its probable that they hate cleaning! I used to take things so personally when I lived w/ roommates but in all honestly--I hate cleaning!

A cleaning service is no more than $150 a month, spilt w/ 3 ppl that is $50 a month--I know that it seems like a lot but you can always look around, try different companies. It may be the way to go.

Don't make it unfair, don't ask the person who hates cleaning to pay more or less--market it as -- we know a way that you don't have to clean!

& if that doesn't work or is not an option, make a schedule, you need to include this roommate & each of you get a variety of duties per week--maybe they just aren't used to living with other people either & from that understanding the responsibilty that comes with that?

well as long as the other two see that you and your closest friend are cleaning they'll just leave well enough alone. my suggestion is start a chore list for everyone but make it kinda fun. for each chore not done that roommate will have to do something special for everyone else. Like maybe cook a meal, treat everyone to desert somewhere, or you can start a pot, and every time someone doesn't do a chore, they add a dollar or two. depending on what amount you think is affordable for everyone. at the end of the month buy groceries or cleaning supplies. Keep things fun though. It makes having to do chores a lot easier. Good luck i hope this help,s.

She is attempting to take priority and administration on your residing arrangements, advise to her you the two save your toiletries on your guy or woman bedrooms. If she does no longer try this then %. up her stuff right into a cardboard container on the floor each and every time you utilize the bathing room - yet be certain you do away with your issues lower back on your mattress room each and every time. If she would not get the hint then - you have a housing settlement - circulate to whomever oversees the settlement and inn an respectable criticism, and proceed to attain this till some action is taken. as this is dorms, possibly they are going to circulate one in each of you. you do no longer would desire to placed up with this.

They will not, I had to kick one out...If they are slobs they will not change. If you have asked them to clean and they will not. nothing is going to change.
