"A leading figure in the Bush administration's march to war in Iraq helped justify the 2003 invasion by undercutting the CIA with questionable intelligence about Saddam Hussein's links to al Qaeda, a Pentagon watchdog agency said in a report on Friday.

Former U.S. defense policy chief Douglas Feith presented the White House with claims of a "mature symbiotic relationship" between Iraq and al Qaeda as if they were facts, while ignoring contradictory views from the intelligence community, the report by the Pentagon inspector general said."

He will only be held accountable by the public and historians. I believe the majority of Americans have become aware that the intelligence supporting the attack on Iraq was not only flawed, but manipulated in whatever manner was necessary to garner support for Bush and Cheney's obsession with Iraq. I remain disgusted by this Administration's propensity for continuing to underhandedly connect 9/11 and Iraq by word spin every time they get the chance. Bush has shamelessly used 9/11 to support his venture in Iraq and he preyed on the grief and rage we all felt after that attack. In the Libby trial, it has come out that Cheney was told by Wilson, the man he sent to find out that very thing, that the British uranium intel was bogus. Cheney buried it and that intel was used as though it was proven fact in the 2003 SOTU Address. Considering all the plates that Congress has to spin in the air over this war, investigations into manipulated intelligence will take place too late to do more than paint Bush's legacy blacker than it is already.

The only way the Bush Administration will be held accountable is if the American people get some balls and get behind their Congressman and Senators and make your voice known that you want them gone. Poloticians are the workers of the people not to do what they want to do. The power has to go back into the hands of the people so you don't have corruption of the likes of the Bush Administration.
I wish that that all of them to serve as examples and be tried for the War Criminals that they are. It would be good to see all the members of the PNAC be before the World Court in the Hague and be charged for Crimes against Humanity.

Hon, Iraq, not an international court or tribunal, tried and convicted Saddam. So, Nuremberg has nothing to do with it. It's his own country who held him accountable for the things he did in that country. So, Bush et al need not be held accountable for anything except, maybe, bad judgment. The "oil thing" is way done.

No. Any investigation or trial that uncovered facts like this as actually being behind the invasion of Iraq would be pointless, and contrary to the best interests of America. IF this were to be accurate and the circus like media attention that would certainly occur an actual trial would be enough to bring an already divided country to it's knees. The next president, of whatever political party will see this as true.

Anything that Reuters is involved with I question. They have a habit of spreading lies when they are suppose to tell the events as they are happening and not re do pictures and then saying that they were just trying to show both sides. Take the pictures in Lebanon just for starts. Also try finding out the truth of the Corrie events that happened several years ago in Israel where they claim that she was in full site of the person who was on the bulldozer. They like to make everyone who is American look bad unless it is for the benifit of the terrorest, PLO,Ha mas, and Hezbollah!

What is blatantly obvious to me is that the office of the President has far too much power in the US. While he is supposed to be a man of the people, a civil servant responsible for leading the country, he has assumed (unchecked) enormous, dictator-like power. And the American people just allow it to happen. They made their wishes known with the Democratic take over of Congress...but even that seems to have lost steam. As long as the citizens of the country allow this man to continue to lie, he will not be held accountable.

I lay the responsibility squarely at the feet of the American public...you are treated the way you teach people to treat you. And they have taught Bush that he can treat them as voiceless minions who mean nothing to him. He has his personal plan for power, and is carrying it out without meaningful opposition.

Accountable for what?
Did anyone get their arms twisted after the towers fell, or did they want the sherrif to strap on his gun, form a possee, mount up and go shoot, lynch, arrest and torture anyone who might just possibly , could of, or was related to any one who could of or might of and if anyone stood in the way waste them to get at the bad guys?
Did the head lawmakers give the sherrif the keys to the armory and bank and say whatever it takes do it and don't bother with the details We will watch out for the stores while you are gone.
Did the lawman not finding enough men to form a possee have to up the bounty and also the reward list in order to get enough men with guns to go after the bad guys?
Didn't all the pretty laid ease, oops ladys, wave their hankys, the macho boys buy the possee members drinks and then line the streets waving banners and hankies as the possee left town?
Now the sherrifs men finding the banks open may of taken to much from the towns treasury, may of known the bad guys family a little too closely, instead of trying to capture the bad guy just added more rangelands to the towns borders, a whole country, and back home the ladies waved hankies and the men made fun of girly boys who did not join the possee.
No one knew whre the possee was heading but they must be still after bad guys so they took up collections to send them ands finally they found the possee in a whole differnt town, some place called Bad bag and led by a evil guy who was called soddom or some such and more possee members were rounded up and the ladies waved hankies and so did the macho boys as they rode off.
Damn, pretty soon the bank was almost broke, the schools could not afford to run, foreign buisness were buying up all the trade good stores and some damn foreigners were working at all the jobs for almost nothing and the damn posseee was crying for more and more.
The Lawmakers asked, "When would it all end"?
The Sherriff said, "shut up and sit down you gave me the right to do as I wanted and I want you to sit down and shut up".
The lawmakers did just that.
Pass me a fresh hanky please and if you don't have a spare one where an I get a good stiff drink without having to join some lost possee?

It is a well built house of cards. With the implications of corruption in your statement and the situation involving Libby and Cheney's involvement there it is becoming more difficult for the administration to keep denying their corruption.
My question is who in our government is not involved and who is strong enough to risk everything and stand up to them?
From things I have read many politicians from the Dem. and Rep. are involved in this move towards Fascism or the New World Order!

Bush has never been held accountable in his sorry life. He has consistently screwed everything up he has ever been associated with and then walked away and let someone else clean up his mess....this is called " The bush effect". Cheney believes he is above the law, and with his connections, maybe he is. So do not hold your breath waiting for accountability. Let's just hope that karma is in effect here....this administration has so much blood on it's hands.
